Fiber College

This was my first year at Fiber College in Searsport, Me. It was enchanting! Even though we had to put up our tent in the rain, it did not get us down because of the wonder of the campsite. It was wonderful to see the plants, flowers, gardens, the beach, besides being made welcomed so much that you felt like part of the family. I loved seeing Astrig again and meeting her wonderful husband, Steve, and great dad, and all the wonderful staff. Mary Jane was a wonderful resident artist, I loved how homey she decorated her welcoming tent, she went the extra mile to make you feel like you were in a special place : ) I loved the fashion show and the wine and cheese afterwards, and having live music, they even let my hubby play bass with them. Friday, I did a demo on tatting earrings, was almost done with the demo when I realized that Sunday was the demo on earrings and Friday was the demo on tatting with yarns, oops, so I did both. Loved walking around seeing the vendors, saw the buttons, Mary knew I was hooked, all I could say was I felt like I was going through my grandmother's button box, I bought some awesome tiny glass buttons. Enjoyed my time with Enchanted Knoll ; )
I loved meeting Jen,who taught me to hoop! Hey I am up to 10 turns lol. Carol saved the day by bringing me pillows. We had loads of laughs with Amy, Carol, Cathy, and Leslie at the Angler! Carol showed me how to eat a lobster.

Met Lauren Sundin and Steve. I loved what she did with her bobbins, she is a wonderful designer.

Endless Mts Fiber Festival

I have a wonderful son, Matthew, and his girlfriend, Kim, who stepped in for me vending at the Endless Mts Festival while I was up in Maine at the Fiber College teaching a class.
I was so pleased that they enjoyed vending and even said that they would step in again if I needed them. I loved making the felted soaps, as they smelt so so so good! I found my appliqued copper pins that I made to include in the booth, besides my batts, patterns, orifice hooks, and kits.
Sorry to say that some vendors could not make it because of the flooding and my prayers go out to those who were affected by the flooding.

More designing tatted earrings

Hurricane Irene did a little set back, now I have to work like the wind getting things done for the Fiber College class in Maine on Needle Tatting September 10th, I also have a vending space in PA that my wonderful son Matt is going to step in for me, so I have fiber to get ready, soap to do, kits to put together, patterns to sort out, I definitely will have a nite cap when I get to Maine : ).
So here are a few of the tatted earring designs in progress. I still need to finish the ends for they are nice and tidy!

Day 14-16 Tour de Fleece : )

A little behind on the posting, having a blast at The Barnstable Fair! The people are great, it is so wonderful to demo spinning and having so many people interested, old and young, several want to learn to spin, yeah come join the group! Where do you get the fiber? How do you make that fluffy stuff to string? How does a spinning wheel spin the fiber? (That is mostly men questions: )

Poor Sheryl's drive band broke, several attempts lighting it together as you can see in the pics.
Spun and plied my green merino/alpaca fiber, attempted to core spin with corriedale, and spinning my Bunnie, a giant angora, yummy : )
